Get to Know WB-EMS
Electro-myo-stimulation training (EMS training)is a whole-body training combining electric muscle stimulation with simple body weight exercises. In a session, all major muscle groups throughout the body are activated without additional weight.
The training is carried out under the close supervision in a 1:1 or 1:2 settings of our certified trainers. WB-EMS training is suitable for people looking to prioritise their health, strengthen bodies and stay active in everyday life. It can create safe and effective results that align with the user’s goals with their individual physical condition.
WB-EMS training is especially attractive as it is time efficient. Only take under 30 minutes a week makes it possible for all users to fit a consistent exercise routine in their busy schedule.

What's EMS Training ?

EMS is an exceptionally effective full-body training approach that, in under 30 minutes a week, supports a range of muscular fitness goals. By combining voluntary muscle engagement with the activation of all major muscle groups simultaneously, EMS offers a distinctive, more focused workout in a shorter time.
The history of Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) reveals a fascinating evolution of techniques and applications, demonstrating the potential of electrical currents in therapy, fitness, and sports.
History of EMS Training
• Around 200 BC: In ancient Asia Minor, the physician Claudius Galenus observed the therapeutic use of electric rays to relieve headaches, marking one of the earliest recorded uses of electrical phenomena in medicine.
• 1740: The medical community began exploring electricity’s potential in treatment. Kratzenstein documented the “Use of Electricity in Pharmacology,” while researchers like Jallabert and Benjamin Franklin contributed further, using electrical currents to advance physical therapy practices.
• 1780: Luigi Galvani’s experiments with frog legs provided early proof that muscle tissue responds to electrical stimulation, demonstrating what he termed “animal electricity” and laying groundwork for future EMS research.
• Early 19th Century: Scientists such as Michael Faraday and Guillaume Duchenne developed mechanical current generators for stimulating specific muscle areas, advancing localized muscle treatment.
• Early 20th Century: Researchers like Gildenmeister and Lapique began formalizing EMS principles, establishing foundational laws and terminology that remain relevant in modern electro-stimulation.
• 1939: Testing on mammals highlighted EMS’s effectiveness by showing that it could produce stronger muscle contractions than voluntary effort alone, illustrating its potential for enhancing muscle performance.
• 1960s: This decade saw the emergence of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), widening EMS applications for rehabilitation and pain management.
• 1971: Soviet researcher Yakov Kots developed a method known as “Russian Stimulation,” which increased Russian athletes’ muscle strength by 30-40% through EMS, boosting athletic performance and sparking global interest in EMS training.
• 1990s: Portable EMS devices, especially those by Compex, became increasingly popular for use in sports, providing athletes with accessible muscle stimulation tools to enhance training and recovery.
• 2003: The “Body Transformer” was introduced as the first true full-body EMS system, transforming its role in fitness and enabling a new way to stimulate all major muscle groups simultaneously.
• 2007: Miha bodytec launched its own full-body EMS system with an innovative belt-and-vest combination, setting new standards in EMS technology and becoming widely adopted in fitness and sports communities.
